Nothing Lasts Forever

Let me remember the simple moments in life.
The unwarranted laughter.
The touch of a loved ones embrace.
Let me reminisce on all I took for granted.
The gatherings with friends.
The learning opportunities at work.
I miss the freedom of the past.
Walking in a dark alley in a foreign Italian city, with rain drops bouncing off my hair.
Carelessly, touching objects in the Dubai bazaar.
What treasures laid at the touch of my fingers, yet I failed to memorize them.
Let me tell you what I would do now, if not for this pandemic.
The bottles of wine I would cheer to your existence.
The number of times I would kiss your forehead.
Let me tell you what I will never forget.
The beauty of our world and the scenery I witnessed, in Corsica, Taiwan and my own backyard.
I wonder if I too, live in someone’s nostalgia?
Do you want me to tell you something...Did I not tell you, nothing lasts forever?
